Ink.
I had a big William Faulkner phase from 2013-2016. He is a difficult author, but I find his depiction of time to be unparalleled. I had just finished reading his biography and did a quick sketch of his photo from the back cover. Ironically, my portrait of Faulkner was quick and easy, unlike his ponderous, lengthy, layered prose. If I could erase pen-and-ink (which I can't), I would erase the time-piece--kind of unnecessary. I do think it captured a wonderfully skewed likeness of the author (even if no one else does).
