This piece is one of the few pieces I've created using a brush with ink rather than pen. This was specifically for a group show at Studio & in Durango, CO in 2014 where participants were invited to forgo their primary tool of production--myself it was the pen. This image was the link for me to more fully embrace watercolor brushwork in the following year--setting off a whole series of stylistic diversions.
